Ross comes to us with over forty years of experience in the music industry comprising of performing live, stagecraft, sound recording, video editing and teaching.

In his role with TRACQS Kuranda Digital Media (KDM) Ross is passionate about sharing knowledge and providing our participants with the skills to expand their own careers and projects in the music and visual media arena.

He has been running regular training sessions in software such as Cubase (a Digital Audio Workstation program), Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing software) and Adobe Photoshop (image editing software).

He is a highly creative musician who is interested in all aspects of digital media.

He is a professional music producer who has mentored many of his participants, including TRACQS Participant and Casual Supervisor, Lunar, (pictured), in achieving their music projects and goals.

Some exciting community outcomes that have been produced by the KDM team include an online training package voice over recording for National Employment Services Association (NESA), music recording for a song titled “Alwayz Learning” in collaboration with Youth Link, recording a complete album with Szara Fox and recording Bozza’s album that won APRA’s Best Urban Artist of the Year award.

KDM is also responsible for developing a number of short community documentaries for events such as Families Gathering in the Park, Family Fun-Day, Kuranda NAIDOC Day, March Against Ice, Ngoombi Men’s and Women’s Group Launch, March Against Violence, Regenerative Agriculture Convergence, Ngoombi Hospice’s Senior’s Week and Kowrowa Family Fun Day.

Ross also had the immense privilege of flying to Minjilang (Croker Island), a remote Indigenous community in the Northern Territory, in order to teach and share creative music with the local people of the area.

During his short time at Minjilang, he set up a studio, taught music and recording techniques, recorded a few songs and provided the local community with skills and resources to explore their musical potential.
