Kuranda Amphitheatre is a unique attraction in Kuranda as a community venture, which was created, built and has been managed by the people of Kuranda since 1980.

Our team have continued to operate during the current COVID-19 pandemic and recently undertook some minor works to the venue including the construction of a new shed.

TRACQS Property Maintenance and Trade and Skills Supervisors provide a range of services across the community including activities for participants for the Community Development Program (CDP).

The team have also completed some repairs to screw down the pavilion roof, as well as general mowing, whipper snipping, blowing, weeding and mulching the beautiful gardens and terraces.

The Kuranda Amphitheatre has hosted several major concerts throughout the years hosting the likes of Midnight Oil, Mumford & Sons, John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, INXS, Missy Higgins, The Wailers, Slim Dusty, Silverchair, The Cruel Sea, and Lee Kernaghan, just to name a few.

The venue comprises 1.62 hectares (4.3 ac) of land. A community venture, which has been created, built and managed by the people of Kuranda since 1980, the Kuranda Amphitheatre is unique in North Queensland, considered a local hub and heart of Kuranda Village.

“We would like to thank TRACQS for their continued support and especially Adric Rusch, Ian Tranby and other Supervisors who are continuing with projects within the venue. It is great to see the venue still alive.”
