TRACQS is a provider of the Time to Work Employment Service, an Australian Government initiative which provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prisoners at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre to build capacity for when they leave prison and connect them with local post-release support.

How we will work with you

Our experienced mentor will work with eligible prisoners prior to their release to develop individualised pathways that recognise the unique strengths, needs, and culture of each participant.

This includes a comprehensive assessment of current employment barriers as well as the development of a detailed transition plan for each participant.

Our aim is to then ensure that participants are connected to the support they need to reintegrate into the community after release, which includes a facilitated transfer to their employment service provider.

Eligibility

To participate in the Time to Work Employment Service program, a prisoner must be:

  • a self-identifying Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • over 18 years of age, and
  • Sentenced and within three-to-four months of their release from prison.
