It’s been a busy start to the year for the Chillagoe Community Development Activity.
The team finished local resident Edwina’s outdoor table from an old frame and utilised recycled timber from old pallets.
Participant Trey was inspired and built a coffee table from the leftover pallet timbers.
Richard built a stool, and the team got busy repairing punctured pushbike tyres for the local kids. LL and N were embedded into the activity with measurements, quantities and planning.
An outdoor table was repaired for the Cockatoo Hotel and whipper snipper was in action to clean up fellow participant Georgina’s yard before she left for holidays.
Jobseekers from the TRACQS Chillagoe Alliance Activity approached our TRACQS Activity Manager to request assistance with creating Gravesites for 3 Indigenous Chillagoe family members as they had been unable to afford to mark the graves of loved ones that had been there for many years.
After negotiations with the Mareeba Shire Council, the council waived the fee for marking of the graves and progress by the TRACQS Activity began.
