Handmade ceramic pendant with the old symbol of Kolovrat.  Unlike the modern version, the old traditional version of the Kolovrat is a solid circle cut up like a pie into 8 pieces.  In Czech (the artist’s native language) the word Kolo means wheel, and the word vrat means return. It represents the returning wheel of the year.

As the artists family used to live for many generations in a small town called Kolovraty (today part of south-eastern outer suburbs of Prague) this symbol is quite special to the artist.
