Sashiko Subtle

Medium Cross-Body Pouch
Description Sashiko is a form of Japanese decorative stitching, and I used it to showcase the front of this two-tone bag. The pattern featured is based on Hirai jūmon.
Subtle is a good description for this bag as nothing jars. The navy / khaki colour combination is soothing while the lining features the gentle tones of autumn. The top has a zipper closure, while the front features an enclosed zipper pocket. Inside, near the base of the bag is a divided pocket, and the back lining holds a zippered pocket. The bag has an adjustable, self-fabric strap and a full-width slip pocket with a magnetic snap closure on the back.
Made from hard-wearing chino drill with a cotton lining, this bag is light-weight, durable and low maintenance. Even with the hand-stitching this bag can be cleaned in the washing machine and dried in the dryer. If ironing, lay a towel over the front of the bag so that the stitching is not compressed.
